Giving Thanks

Oh, I know.  This is a cliche for a post.  Whatever.  🙂

I’ll keep it simple–what am I thankful for?  Here are a few things…

My family, friends, colleagues, students and former students.  People who make me laugh and those who make me cry.  My fellow writers, who keep me inspired.  Chocolate chip ice cream, Nutella, apples, salsa and chips, good margaritas and white wine. (Not all at once.  If that were the case I’d be thankful for Pepto Bismol!) Flowers,

Oldies but Goodies

I was reminiscing with a friend earlier this week and we were remembering TV shows and songs we loved as a kid.

One show I loved was The Muppet Show.  I think even the younger me could recognize Jim Henson’s genius.  Because everyone is in need of a giggle now and again, I give you one of my favorite Muppet Show clips.

Comings and Goings

My kids are adults.

There, I said it.  And it made me a little queasy.

This year there are a lot of changes in my house.  No one is waiting for a class schedule or bus pass.  I don’t need to worry what teachers want with regard to notebooks and supplies. I have no more back-to-school nights and I can’t call teachers to see how any of them are doing.

I have college students.
