RWA 2012

I’m packing.  Sort of.  It’s more like I’m staring at my suitcase and the pile of clothes and thinking, “What the hell was I thinking buying that?”

Such is the dilemma of RWA 12.  Where 2,000 romance writers will get together for four days of book signings, networking, workshops and parties.  In preparation for this event we will shop, have manicures, pedicures, facials, be waxed, buffed and highlighted until we shine like the foils in our hair.  And the shoes!  It’s all about the shoes. Even my flip flops sparkle.

So, on Tuesday night, I’ll be landing in Southern California and start my RWA adventure with my intrepid roomie, Dana.  We’ll meet up with old friends and make new ones along the way.  It’s going to be a fun four days.

One thing I won’t be doing?  Pitching.  I don’t have to pitch an agent or editor this year because I have a wonderful new agent and I am thrilled.  I’m planing on meeting lots of people and seeing some great workshops.  Maybe I’ll get some writing done, too.

I might update this week, but don’t count on it.  If I’m not involved in conference business, I’ll be at the bar.  Great people watching at the bar.  Hey, don’t judge! I’ve said it before…stories are everywhere.
