Award-winning, USA Today bestselling author Jeannie Moon has always loved stories. The author of nineteen contemporary romances, Jeannie is married to her high school sweetheart, has three grown kids and two grandchildren, and has lived on Long Island, NY, her whole life. A retired teacher and librarian, Jeannie is also an editor and author coach with a growing freelance practice.
If she’s more than ten miles away from salt water for any longer than a week, she gets twitchy.

Jeannie was the recipient of the 2018 RWA Service Award presented by Romance Writers of America for outstanding service to the romance community.
Career Highlights
Jeannie wrote for twelve years before selling her first book. When she did, she landed a three-book deal—on proposal—in 2012.
In May of 2013, Jeannie’s debut novel, The Temporary Wife, was released with great reviews.
In January 2018, Jeannie became a USA Today bestselling author.
Jeannie was presented with the 2018 RWA Service Award for her commitment to Romance Writers of America.
Jeannie’s book, Then Came You, won the 2018 Booksellers’ Best Award for Long Contemporary Romance.
Jeannie’s 19th book came out in 2021, at which point she took a hiatus from writing to focus on her family and finishing her teaching career. Now that she’s retired, she’s back at her keyboard.
In 2024, Jeannie received a certificate in Editing and Publishing from the prestigious UCLA Writers’ Program. She’ll use what she’s learned to continue mentoring writers at all levels.
Fast Facts
Jeannie spent almost 40 years in education, first as an English teacher and then as a school librarian. She still keeps in touch with many of the thousands of students she’s had over the years.
In high school, Jeannie would carry a binder full of original short stories—romances, of course—and loan them out to her friends.
Jeannie and her husband have a mixed marriage; she’s a New York Mets fan, and he likes the Yankees.
While in college, Jeannie worked as a sports reporter at the campus radio station. She spent several seasons reporting on college and local professional teams, so yes…she has been in more than a few pro locker rooms!
Jeannie has a big extended family, which means life is never boring. She has over 40 first cousins!!
